Journey Update…

Well, we are on for surgery this coming Monday, June 16th!  We met with our surgeon today for a go/no go decision.  We decided to go.  Like I have a choice!  I have cancer in me and the surgeon can get more of it out.

So, at 1:15pm on Monday, I go under the knife for a second time.  I should be in the hospital (The James) for about a week and then six or seven weeks at home again, driving my wife nuts!!

I am looking at it this way, I get the summer off.  Can’t do anything, but I get my summer off!

Sandi will be giving updates on my progress while I am in the hospital, so stay tuned!!

  12. […] A Call to Prayer Many of you have been following the journey of my friend Stef the past few months either through his blog, AC180, my blog or all three. If you are not familiar with Stef, he is an amazing man of God, Christian brother, husband, father and friend. God gave me the blessing of connecting our paths and I am a better person today because of that divine moment. If you would like to know more about Stef, his journey and his family, he has been sharing it through his blog. […]

  13. Hey Stef!

I will be praying for you and your family as you undergo surgery next week. Maybe I’ll stop by with a quick hello. I know you probably won’t be on your blog very much while recovering, but Oprah had a great show on the other day. There was a man on there who is a professor at a college that has three young children all under the age of 5 and has stage IV pancreatic cancer. He gave a very influential lecture at his college as well as a piece of it on Oprah that was very moving. Here is the link http://www.cmu.edu/randyslecture Maybe you can check it out. There is a youtube link to watch the whole lecture. There was also a young woman who was on Oprah that is battling a rare liver cancer who is also in stage IV. She did a very inspiring documentary of her journey that was on TLC that I actually saw a few months back. Maybe you can check out her website too. http://www.crazysexycancer.com God Bless you Stef!! Refuse to Lose!!
