Thirteen years and counting…

img_2242.jpgThirteen years ago today, my wife and I tied the knot and vowed to be together forever. It has been thirteen years of ups and downs, but many more highlights than lowlights.

We have been through me getting my CPA certification and MBA. We have been through losing half or our possessions when our neighborhood flooded and we lost the lower level of our house. We have been through illness and our current journey battling cancer.

We have also been through the births of our three fantastic kids, great family vacations, a growing circle of incredible friends, moving to a great new neighborhood filled with many kids and good people, and being involved in a growing church that God has His hand on.

Through all of these times, my wife has been there beside me. My wife is a large part of what defines me. She is my earthly rock and my conscience when I am not thinking clearly. She is the love of my life and my best friend. I am thankful that God sent her into my life and I am a better man for it.

I love you, Sandi, and am looking forward to many more years of being together with you. Happy anniversary, babe!

  14. Congrats! I have great memories of sharing that day with both of you. I remember how Sandi worked so hard for everything to be perfect. It was such a beautiful day! All marriages have their ups and downs, the downs just make you stronger as a couple. Brad and I celebrated 21 years this summer.Congrats again. It does not seem like 13 years since I wore the dress Sandis’ Mom made. Also, remember the fun we had at Youngs? In the Limo? LOve and prayers to you both!

  16. Hey… I’ve only seen you in passing early before services (a ways back). I’ve never really met you but I’ve been praying for you and your family… this is one of the perks of being in the family of God. ;^) With regards to your post… excellent stuff and I wish I saw more and more of it throughout the blogosphere. Marriage is truly a sacred union but our society seems to be forgetting that more and more every day. Congratulations on your 13 years!

  18. Happy Anniversary Stef and Sandi! Your faithful marriage is a great testimony to your kids and those around you! Glad to know you are recovering from the surgery. The Marriage Builders ABF at Northwest Chapel continues to pray for you. Go Buckeyes as well! 4 more years! Too bad about the loss to Illinois, but Pasadena is much nicer than New Orleans anyway…
